Nickel Plating Services Start @ $75

One improvement to our custom built AR-15′s is our custom nickel based plating of the bolt and carrier which not only improves the function and the cleaning but even if we say so ourselves looks good. The plating bonds directly to the steel, (unlike Chrome plating and other processes which can peel,over time rendering it useless). This helps to keep the bolt and carrier clean, and now because it is polished, the bolt and carrier need just a small amount of lubricant and in the words of a U.S. Contractor working in Afghanistan “makes the rifle so slick”.

We refer to it as the F.C.C as people tell us it runs Faster, Cooler and Cleaner.

The bolt stays cooler when using rapid fire and the unburnt powder does not want to stick. We have tested our process and have shot our rifles dry without any lubricant and the rifle after approx 300 rounds through it still worked fine in fact we ran out of ammunition on the day. When it comes to cleaning, the carrier can be cleaned with a dry cloth and the bolt wiped over with a little Hoppe’s.

This service is available to customers using their own bolt and carrier or we can supply you with one of our own bolt and carriers supplied to us by a well respected manufacturer. If we use your supplied bolt and carrier we will advise customers if in our opinion any part needs to be replaced i.e. the extractor spring or the cotter pin etc. In fact we prefer that the firing pin, the cotter pin and the extractor pin be removed before sending it to us for plating as we do not plate these small parts. This service improves the function and appearance of the rifle at a small financial cost without the expense of buying a new bolt and carrier.
